Sessions

An osteopathic session is made up of several elements:

  • Assessment of joint mobility and tissue texture

  • Tissue palpation

  • manual approach and osteopathic care

Duration of the session

  • About 50- 70 min

Possible reactions during an osteopathic session

  • Normally from the first session there should be an improvement in symptoms.

  • Each patient will react differently after an osteopathy session. The most common reactions are:

  • Aches (post-manipulative myalgia) which are due to the work of the muscles which govern the posture. New data from the osteopath during the session can create chain reactions that can lead to stiffness in various places.

  • Fatigue, due to the energy consumption of the body during and after the session.

  • new pains due to the reorganization of the body.

  • nausea, diarrhea, which may appear mainly after functional care (visceral)

  • All of these symptoms are transient and mild and last for about 48 hours.
